At Shangri-La Cattery, we don’t just care for cats — we also provide safe, comfortable, and enriching accommodation for rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and other small animals. To make their stay extra special, we’ve invested in state-of-the-art Omlet hutches and runs with a clever tunnel system, look-out platforms, and built-in safety and comfort features.
Why Omlet?
Omlet hutches and runs are designed with animal welfare in mind. They are:
- Secure – strong, predator-proof housing with underfloor mesh to stop rabbits digging out.
- Fox & badger resistant – unique tunnel-proof panels have been rigorously tested for safety.
- Weather-resistant – designed for year-round comfort.
- Easy to clean – keeping your pet’s home fresh and hygienic.
Comfort in All Weathers
The Eglu system is specially designed for comfort throughout the year:
- Winter: Twin-walled insulation works like double glazing, trapping warm air inside. We also use an Extreme Temperature Blanket on the Eglu Go for extra protection during very cold spells.
- Summer: A draught-free ventilation system allows fresh air to circulate, keeping pets cool, while preventing air from blowing directly over bedding.
- Run Covers: Our shaded covers protect small animals from the hot sun, as well as offering shelter from wind and rain.
Tunnels and Runs for Adventure
We know small animals love to explore. That’s why we have:
- Two large outdoor runs, giving plenty of space to hop, dig, and play.
- Connecting tunnels that allow animals to move safely between runs.
- Look-out platforms, perfect for curious pets who like to climb and observe their surroundings.
This set-up provides endless enrichment and encourages natural behaviours, helping rabbits, guinea pigs, and others feel happy and active during their stay.
A Holiday for Small Pets
Whether it’s:
- Rabbits hopping through tunnels,
- Guinea pigs enjoying extra space to explore, or
- Chinchillas climbing up onto platforms to watch the world go by…
Our Omlet system means your pets enjoy more than just boarding — they get their own holiday experience.
Our Promise
When you board your small animals with us, you can trust they’ll receive the same high level of care and attention as our cats. With secure housing, weatherproof protection, and plenty of enrichment, they’ll feel safe, comfortable, and entertained throughout their stay.
